Easy Coriander and coconut chutney recipe

If you ask me, what is special about this chutney? I would say it's a normal chutney but a delicious, simple and easy to make chutney.
As the name says it "coriander leaves and coconut chutney",the main ingredients are coriander leaves and coconut and a few ad-ons.

This chutney goes well with just anything, dosas, idli, cutlets, rice, bread...

Preparation time: 15 Min
Cooking time : 5 min
Makes 1 cup of chutney


Coconut :1 cup
Coriander leaves: ½ cup
Onion : 1 small
Ginger : 1 inch piece
Green chilly : 2 (according to your taste)
Tamarind paste : 1 tsp
Salt to taste


Oil: 1 tsp
Mustard seeds : 1 tsp
Curry leaves: 1 stick

  1. Slice onions and clean ginger
  2. Add all the ingredients into a mixer.
  3. Grind it to a coarse paste.
  4. Heat a wok/ kadai and add mustard seeds.
  5. Once the mustard seeds crackle add curry leaves and ground paste and switch off the stove.
  6. Serve this delicious chutney as an accompaniment with any of your favorite breads or rice.
