By 22:41:00 ,

Sometimes one of the simplest tasks takes a lot of our time in kitchen. Cutting onions is one such everyday task. We use onions for most of our dishes. Many of you will agree if I say : We don't learn to chop it right, but we just learn to chop and we continue using the same method for many years. I have also watched a competition on TV, where cutting onions was given as a task. Challenge on this task was to slice and chop onions where every piece would be of the same size .

Cooking skills start with learning to chop onions. We have to cut onions fast. As the saying goes "Practice makes man perfect", so does cutting onions which needs a lot of practice. With practice comes speed and perfection. Do not forget to have a sharp knife while cutting onions.

In the above video we have used  "Santoku" knife. This knife is very good for the 3 cutting tasks of slicing, mincing and dicing.

The above video is by my husband and its his preferred method of chopping onions. If you can practice third method in above video, I'm sure you'll save a lot of time while chopping onions finely. But, make sure you take care and be safe while cutting.
